Getting Started:
In advance of your first appointment, you will receive a Welcoming Packet containing written information about the services, program rules, privacy practices, client rights and responsibilities, policies, fees, billing and intake paperwork. (If you need help with reading, writing and/or have questions about this information, please ask your therapist for help).
If you have healthcare insurance, it is recommended that you contact your health insurance company in advance of starting services to determine if services will be covered. (The practice accepts the following health insurance: Blue Cross Blue Shield (Traditional, PPO Trust, Mental Health and Substance Abuse), Blue Care Network, Aetna (out of network coverage), United Healthcare and a majority of the Medicaid Health Plans (Blue Cross Complete, Meridian, McLaren, etc.).
Your First Appointment:
Please bring your completed intake paperwork to your first appointment. The information you share will help the therapist understand your personal strengths, needs and expectations for treatment. With your consent, the therapist will complete an assessment with you. If it is determined that your treatment needs fit into the therapist’s scope of practice, the therapist will make clinical recommendations about which type of therapies best fit your needs.
Treatment Planning: Your therapist will help you write a treatment plan identifying your goals and objectives. You will be informed of the risks and benefits of treatment. If you provide written consent for treatment, those services will be provided.
Information and Referral: If your needs are outside of the therapist’s scope of practice and/or you need psychological testing, disability application evaluation or custody evaluations, the therapist will provide information and referral to other health providers and/or community resources. counseling services.
